How To Make A ‘Cinemagraph’ | Say Yes! To Hoboken
I’m sure if you’ve been on Tumblr for a while you would have seen Jamie Beck’s ‘cinemagraphs’. Basically they’re gifs, but instead of it being a ‘video’ it looks like a picture with one part that moves (sometimes a swinging necklace, or a person reading a newspaper) You can see Jamie’s pictures here if you need some inspiration. A lot of people liken them to the moving pictures in the Harry Potter movies! Anyway, here is a tutorial from Say Yes! To Hoboken, and I’m so thrilled. I’ve always wanted to know how to make these! Now I just need to take some videos so I have something to practice on…

Bustle Back Pack | Me Sew Crazy
My niece Mia has started kindy, and I tell you what, finding a backpack for her was a challenge. It seems that trademarked characters have a monopoly on backpacks. And the ones that didn’t have a cartoon character on them were truly hideous. Now this is a backpack that both my sister and Mia would love - and no one else at kindy would have it (oh this old thing? Just something I had made especially for me - couture back pack you know!)
I wonder if Mieko will let me make this for her for kindergarten?

Now you can see the whole thing. After I took this pic I added a little more trim. I am about halfway done the trim and then I’m in for more filling and sanding before I can finally paint.
I’ve been trying my best not to rush through this project. I’m not taking shortcuts. I think it’s going to be worth it.
More holes filled and smoothed. As an added bonus this post includes a cat butt.
